Arterial narrowing is a common cause of leg muscle pain when walking, of stroke and diabetic foot problems. Aneurysm (widening of the arteries) can also cause life-limiting problems. Our consultant can assess your clinical risks and your peripheral arterial circulation using clinical assessment and non-invasive investigations such as Doppler pressure measurement and ultrasound. More intensive investigations can follow leading to advice as to whether intervention is clinically needed. Varicose veins are a common cause of itch, ulcer, discomfort and unsightly appearance. We first assess clinically, and then with ultrasound, to determine whether treatment would be of benefit.
